In AIESEC Internatioanl office...

Friday, November 23, 2007

Hello AIESEC in Serbia,

I don't know how many our members where here before me and how was in their time here but I can tell you how is it now! :)

I came this morning in Rotterdam for Global Communication Crew meeting from 24th until 27th November in AI office.

Here is very cool, all AI members are very open for talk and asking, they are also asking a lot, so cool and relaxed people. :) Smiling all the time, helping each other... GCC members are coming all the time, TMU is already here and working! We are starting tomorrow... ;)

Here in the office AI have every Friday from 17 to 18 hours Happy Hour! What that means? That everybody are welcome to join them in the office, have fun and chat with them on different topics (AIESEC, non AIESEC...), playing music and table tennis... AI is buying drinks (juices, vine, beer...), chips, sweets, cookies... You see Raso? Take an example from Laura and do something! :P

Okey friends, that is it all for now from headquarters! In few minutes we are leaving to dinner together GCC, TMU and AI.

Greetings from Rotterdam...

Damjan

Personal Development Newsletter No. 1

Sunday, July 08, 2007

.:: This Edition Highlights ::.

Personal Development
  1. What is an aim of this newsletter?
  2. What is personal development?
  3. Personal development and AIESEC

.:: Editor's Pick ::.

Hello AIESEC world! Welcome from TM corner...

How do you feel these hot days? Did you pass your exams? Did you start to realize your LC plans? Did you satisfy with first results in your LCs? During this period, did you have time to think about what you learn, did you achieve your goals, and did you have time to think about your personal plans, to think about you? Do you want to be remembered for making an impact in your society? Do you want to be classified among nobles in high places noted for their intellect? If you really want to achieve your goals in life, then this is the time for you to discover yourself and start today to work on your personal development.

What is an aim of this newsletter?

The aim of Personal Development Newsletter is to increase awareness of AIESEC Serbia members about their personal development. We want to provide you opportunity to develop your competencies. Competencies are any attitude, behavior, motive or other personal characteristic that is essential to perform a role, or more importantly, improve the performance and personal development from superior to solid. AIESEC competencies are also the essential behaviors which people develop at each stage of the AIESEC Experience and in different roles within the AIESEC Experience for their personal development and AIESEC’s success to become the change agents that we wish our people to be.

What is personal development?

Essentially, personal development is about enjoying your life while making conscious decisions on a daily basis about everything you do. It’s about having more control of your own actions and emotions and staying motivated no matter what situation or environment you’re in.

Personal development teaches you how to become more productive and effective at work and how to maintain focus on what really counts in all aspects of your life.

Personal Development is an attitude; it means you're always seeking new strategies and ideas for improvement. You must remember personal development is a never ending process of learning. The more knowledge we gather along the way, the better equipped we are to make wise decisions and choices on our journey through life. Personal development traditionally covers a broad set of areas to improve such as finances, relationships, health, etc. It is about improving yourself mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically to be the best you can be.

Personal development is so often misunderstood these days. It is about becoming a coach and a leader of yourself primarily then others and using your talents, passions, knowledge and skills to make a lasting and positive impression in the world through your contribution and by helping others. Personal development is an investment into improving yourself and can be the best investment you can make.

Invest in your mind, and let your mind fill your wallet!

The greatest thing about personal development is there aren't a right way and a wrong way to go about it. The core message of personal development is to improve ourselves and ultimately grow into a better person with new skills. At the core of personal development is self-awareness. Like anything worth having in life, personal development is not always easy. Whether it is through learning or through new skill development, personal development is a never ending process.

Personal development and AIESEC

What is important for you? What are the things that you are good at, what areas you would like to improve in? Where is the limit for your ambition and skill? Are you doing what you would really like to do? At some point of time, everyone is facing these questions and strives to find the right answers.

AIESEC engages young people right in the moment when they are wrestling with the questions that determine the ambition and direction of their future. AIESEC’s role is to provide support and experiences that shake up their thinking and unlocks their true potential.

Discover yourself

Self discovery is a gradual process in which an individual actually inquires more about himself. He discovers what he loves most and what he hates most. He finds out about what he is good at and thinks of how he can experimentally develop it. It is a very important step you must take in developing your inner self and enhancing your creativity.

Are you interesting in personal development?

If you answer YES, start today to work on it. More about personal development, how AIESEC can provide you that, new approaches, theories, sites, links you can find in next edition. So stay tuned… Until next time TM corner wish you interesting summer.

In conclusion, we must keep on remembering as youths that we are the future leaders and therefore have to possess the tools in making positive impact and reforms in our society. These tools have to be acquired gradually and systematically. We must work on our personal development because personal development is the really cool thing. It is more than that though. Personal development is a way of life. Personal development is about stepping out of that box, and out of the loop of living life, assessing and enhancing ones own ability and empowering us and then managing life from that new perspective.

@ly yours,

Jaca
